1:1 Training - "When the student is ready the teacher appears." (B.K.S. Iyenga - Light on Yoga)

The purpose of this service is to increase the vitality, performance and spiritual growth of the individual. Awareness, mindfulness and expression is explored through the transitional and postural (asana) practice of yoga.

The ancient yoga texts The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali cites 'Stira Sukham Assanam' which is translated as steady and pleasant seat. Through the physical practice the student gains strength, balance, flexibility, power and greater body awareness which prepares the body and mind for meditation a movement towards spiritual growth.

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali also cite 'Yogas citta Vritti Nirodhah.' Yoga - mind; chitta - of the mind stuff; vritti - modofications; nirodhah - restraint; The restraint of the modifications of the mind stuff is yoga.

Sri Swami Satchindananda mentions ' for a keen student this one sutra would be enough because the rest of them only explain this one.'

This service is for those students who seek a deeper understanding of the physical and spiritual self.
